Constructed in 1878, The Chamberlin Block at Nos 178 - 186 Carlton St is a mixed use of street level shops and second floor apartments. The building was designated a Heritage Property by The City of Toronto in 2007.

After 5 years of planning, construction on the CN Tower began in 1973 and at a cost of $63,000,000 CDN, the 553.33 m (1,815.4 ft) tower was completed in 1976 and became the world's tallest free standing structure, a record it held for 34 years.
