Completed in 1835 an incorporated in the present block of buildings in 1876, Toronto's First Post Office was the fourth location to serve as a Post Office in the original Town of York but the first when The City of Toronto was established. The building was designated a Heritage Property by The City of Toronto in 1975 and a National Historic Site of Canada in 1980.
